‘Trace Elements’  is the title for a group of eight digital prints derived from the ‘Lipstick Traces’ photographic archive. Each print has the same format namely a grid of 25 images. The ‘Lipstick Traces’ images are encountered by chance in the course of my daily life and I wanted to have an echo of this in the the prints. To achieve this I put the numbers (each image anyway already having its own number in the set)  in ‘a hat’ and  simply  drew them out randomly. The numbers 1-25 on the grid  were previously also drawn at random.
