from here to tescos
statement

I don't own a car and also live near a large Tescos supermarket to which several times each week I walk. From the summer of 2007 to the summer of 2008 I took my little Fuji Finepix camera shopping with me and ‘snapped’ whatever came to my attention. In this way I built up a considerable archive of images of this, it has to be said, very ordinary stretch of edge of town suburbia. Life, time, change happen everywhere all the time of course and ‘From Here To Tesco’s’ displays the,to me, remarkable nature of the unremarkable.

The piece divides the route into six sections, starting with ‘From Here’, that is my house and finishing up at Tescos (as per map). It consists of six A1 prints each comprising a mosaic of photographic images arranged in a grid format. All six units are intended to be seen together.
